We are closed for the Summer of 2025. We will return in September to practice and ramp up for GBPL bullseye matches.

The Tech PRC is a group based out of a long-standing traditional MIT club, the Faculty & Staff Pistol & Rifle Club, which began at MIT over 60 years ago. We currently operate as a non-MIT club that rents the pistol range for grad students, current/former faculty and staff, and other MIT community members to be able to regularly practice and compete.

The club is primarily for marksmanship-focused pistol shooting, in the style of bullseye shooting (one handed, with .22LR pistols). and Our season runs from September through June and we have regular one to two hour practices throughout the week.  Club members can join the Greater Boston Pistol League. This is a low pressure, fun and friendly way to compete against other clubs in the area.

We meet to practice at the MIT Pistol Range on Tuesday evenings (usually at 6:30), followed by GBPL matches during the season. If you want to come shoot with us, you need to either be a guest of a specific member or a member of the club yourself. (See below for more info about membership.)

Note: this is not the undergrad intercollegiate pistol team, they’re over here: MIT Sport Pistol Club.

Pistol Marksmanship Classes:

We will offer NRA, MA L2 Basic Firearm Safety Courses this year if you are interested in shooting our Ruger Mark 3 .22 target pistols. You can apply for your MA LTC or FID. This certification class has an extra cost. This is a one day, 8-hour class usually on a Sunday.
